“Quality care starts with the best therapists”
Our Clinical Team
We all struggle at times. Sometimes it’s the way we feel. Our jobs. Our relationship with our partner, our children, or even with ourselves. Sometimes we need help to get through it, and that’s okay. Whether stress or worry are keeping you up at night, you’re weighed down by sadness or feelings of worthlessness, or you’re having a hard time putting the pieces together from an experience in your past, there is hope. Therapy can help.
In our work together, I can help you overcome depression and anxiety; improve the quality of your relationships; recover from recent or past traumas; gain control during challenging transitions; move through grief and loss; manage stress and worry; enhance self-esteem and self-compassion; discover how to live the life you want to live
Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. Because the fit between you and your therapist is essential to therapeutic success, I am happy to offer a complimentary 20-minute phone session to understand your needs and talk about your options.

Dr Lauren Sabol
My name is Dr. Lauren Sabol and I am a One District psychotherapist specializing in insight-oriented therapy with adults. I was trained locally through The George Washington University, doctor of Clinical Psychology program, and the Bowie State University, master of Counseling Psychology program.
Before moving to private practice, my professional activities included individual, group, and couples therapy within community mental health settings, residence homes, a military treatment facility, and with adolescents in the public school system. In addition to assisting people overcome the challenges associated with anxiety and depression, men and women contending with acute and complex trauma backgrounds are among those I have been privileged to work with extensively. Further, I have particular experience with active duty service members, veterans, and their families.
I strongly believe in the corrective potential of the therapeutic relationship and I work collaboratively with patients to help foster self and interpersonal awareness, so that people can make new and more informed choices if they so desire. I assist in accomplishing this by fostering a safe and open setting that promotes tolerance and flexibility of thought. In such an environment, we can appreciate your patterns of thinking and relating with others as well as the function of any problematic or unrelenting symptoms. This style of practice is best suited for adults who wish to more fully understand themselves and their patterns of relating, and who seek to lead more fulfilling lives through personal observation and discovery.
I am accepting new psychotherapy patients for September, 2018. Based on your individual needs and treatment intentions, I am available for once or twice weekly individual therapy sessions. While I primarily work with individual adults, I provide services for couples and adolescents as well. Please e-mail me with any questions or to set-up a no-fee/no-obligation telephone consultation so that we might mutually consider if our working together would be a good therapeutic fit. I will be interested to consider how I could be useful and what you hope to gain from therapy. I welcome hearing from you and hope to be of assistance as you endeavor upon self-awareness.
