Art Therapist

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way - things I had no words for” Georgia O'Keeffe

About Me

I am a Registered Board Certified Art Therapist who has been practicing art psychotherapy since 2013. My goal is to help you manage the challenges in your life and find healing from distress and trauma. I have worked with military service members who have been deployed to combat zones, with men and women who have been sexually assaulted, and with individuals who have experienced a variety of life traumas.

As a therapist I believe we all have an inherent ability to work through challenges in our lives. Sometimes our ability becomes overpowered by current stressors or past trauma, but we can learn to access our resilience and strengths in the supportive environment of therapy. When we work together in therapy, there will be space for trusting and honest conversation about what matters to you. I am here to support you by helping you work towards your goals.

How we work together will depend on your individualized needs. I have experience in trauma focused art therapy, mindfulness practices, and yoga. We are all creative and can utilize creativity to explore and improve our lives. In art therapy, you can explore your thoughts and feelings through creative means such as drawing, painting and collaging enabling you to tap into your potential for growth and leading to a better understanding of yourself. No experience in art making is necessary and sometimes we might just talk. I hope to work with you in a process of transformation where you can grow and heal, and find ways to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
